I must admit that I cannot find anything more boring than going to a gym.  The ones I have been to so far have always been either full of incredibly worked out but narcissistic people or people whose looks –no offence intended- do not inspire you to continue exercising.  On top of that, gyms are usually “smelly” to my liking and I do not enjoy frolicking over machines shining with sweat.  If I am going to be sweating and rolling into someone else’s sweat I’d much rather it be the sweat of someone I like.

Fortunately there are other options for indoor exercising more appealing, less expensive and much more fun than a gym.  You might know it or not, but the best working out room in your home could be your bedroom or any room in the house where you might care to make love with your partner.  Yes, even a short session with your partner can burn calories and work out your muscles as much as spending an hour working out at your local gym.  The amount of work invested depends on your enthusiasm and the positions chosen.

Some sexual positions are more suitable for a workout than others. These are three of the most demanding but also the best positions for a full body workout.

1) The wheelbarrow.

Do you remember playing wheelbarrow races when you were a child?  It was great fun wasn’t it.  Well, you guessed it, this is exactly the same position but without the race.  

What’s in it?

For him: Works out arms (biceps) by supporting the whole weight of his partner.

For her: arms, bottom and thighs.  This position works out triceps and chest muscles in a similar way as push ups do but it is much more fun! 

In case you are not familiar with this position, as it is perhaps the height in adventurous sexual positions, do not be intimidated to try it, as long as both man and woman have strong arms it should work a treat.  Ladies, you start posing yourself on fours “doggy style” while your partner approaches you from behind.  You are on fours and he is standing up behind you.  He must lift you by the ankles until he reaches a good penetration angle.  The whole weight of the women is carried by the man. 

If the woman gets tired supporting her weight on her arms, a variation can be added and she can lean on her forearms. 

This is a very good position for men who are most turned on by women’s buttocks.  For the woman, the fact of being with her head lower than the rest of her body can cause a pleasant light headedness which can enhance her sexual experience. 

2) The acrobat:

For her: the position works arms, back, thighs and stomach muscles.

This is a demanding position that requires a flexible and strong back for the woman as it stretches the whole length of the back and the stomach muscles. 

To get into this position, the man needs to lie down and get the woman to lie on top resting her back on his chest. This is a woman on top position but it is the man who controls the speed and intensity of the movements.  

3) The height of pleasure

For him: works out legs, back and arms.

For her: thighs and arms.

To get into this position the man has to stand up straight with his feet well anchored to the ground.  The woman clasps hold of his shoulders and lets him lift her. To help keep the position the woman has to find some support for her legs (bed, sofa, washing machine, car, use your imagination). The woman raises her legs around both sides of the man’s body while resting her feet on her chosen support. 

Depending on the strength of the man this position can be more demanding for him or her.  If he is stronger, he can play forklift truck driver and lift you up and down as he thrusts.  If the woman is strong enough she can do that herself controlling the depth of the penetration and the rhythm of the movements.  She can also arch her back while holding onto his neck so he can have a good view of her body!

For best results try to practice these positions at least twice a week.  After a few weeks you can start seeing the results in the mirror as your body will look trimmer and toned.

Why I hate Valentine's Day

Valentine’s day is a day to celebrate love, hope and romance. A day to tell our lovers just how much we appreciate them. But what happen with all those who just fell apart with their lovers? People who were deceived and do not desire to believe in love once again? What happens with all those people who find themselves still looking for their soul mate regardless of years and years of unfruitful searching? Or those who are determined to find a loved one simply because they do believe in love. What happens to those who wait in hope that this year their “Valentine” will once and for all recognize that they love them… but they won’t; and they will spend yet another year by themselves waiting around in hope with a bitter smile in their faces.

Actually, Valentine ’s day may have began as a day to remember love but these days it has turn out to be yet another day to push men and women to buy compulsively stuff that they don’t really want as a way to exhibit their love. The majority of men realize that they will be in trouble if they don’t get a high-end gift for their ladies. So, they buy an overpriced present, not as an expression of their love, but in order to keep away from trouble. Similar to Monopoly, they are purchasing their “get out of jail” cards.
